Hoover PowerDash Pet+ Compact Carpet Cleaner FH50704: Lightweight Rug Shampooer with Heated Cleaning & Removable Tanks

I have went through two of these shampooers, each only lasting about a year. Only used each one maybe 10 times then they would start to have a burning smell and not work anymore. Not buying again.

I used it once so far and it worked good my carpets are very clean now and it sucks up the water well so they are able to dry fast. You have to add new water and empty the dirty water often but I didn't mind that, just carry the dirty water carefully or it can spill if you tilt it. It was easy for my to clean.

Sadly, this is the worst purchase I've made for a carpet cleaner. The dirty water tank design is non-sensicle and practically impossible to thoroughly clean. To make matters worse, once you use it, the dirty water leaks back out onto the floor. So after I'm done cleaning the carpet, I have to clean the trail of dirty water and then fight to clean the dirty water tank. Do not recommend. It creates more work.

Horrible product! I cannot believe that Target carries such a poor product. Only worked 2 times before spilling, leaking and smelling burnt. My daughter has been sick with headaches because of what this steamer did to her room. This is a fire hazard and Target won’t help either. Not shopping with them anymore. Seagull to clean also almost impossible. Do not buy! This is honestly the worst product I have ever purchased.

I am embarrassed to admit I have bought this machine twice. Both times I got less than two years before the smell of burning rubber and no longer being able to use. Wouldn't recommend.

I have a small apartment which is why in thought this cleaner would work just fine. I should note that I have cleaned this product out after every use. After maybe 5 uses it leaks everywhere and the suction has declined significantly. I have followed all of the troubleshooting articles and have reached out to customer service but of course my warranty was up so they only offered me a percentage off another vacuum and sent me the same troubleshooting articles that I've already followed. I definitely regret buying this product because it doesn't work as it should.

Awful product. Started off fine worked only had it maybe 1 yr with only a couple uses like 3 or 4 and it started to smell like a burnt belt. Nope not the issue, some issue with the motor. Went to fiddle with it couldn't figure it out tried to turn it back on and now it died. What an awful product. And it was extremely hard to clean. I wish I could give this a negative star.

I purchased 2 other TOP brand uprights over the years, the purchase of the Hoover PowerDash for small areas and pet stains is by far superior. It performed as Hoover states and even better! For a small cleaner, it's amazing: easy to maneuver, keeps water away from furniture, deep-cleans. For the reviews that state the water canisters are small; it was made for small areas. I didn't mind at all changing the water for the areas I shampooed and the fantastic cleaning it did on stains left over from other brands (for years). It was great being able to stand doing the carpets with an upright, rather than on my knees with my portable for pet stains. I did 2 hallways, 1/2 our large living room, a set of steps and around the bed in our 4K foot home. All this and emptied the water only 3 times. The ONLY improvement I would suggest is to be able to secure the cord high on the handle when in use. I used a removeable zip-tie to secure it. This would help in movement while shampooing to keep the cord away from the head.

We bought this directly off the Hoover website based on reviews there and three years later, we’ve only used it four times because we dread the cleaning process. Cat hair gets jumbled up in the water collection jar and the hole is located at such as weird location that you can’t fill remove everything !! Especially since I have longer hair, some instances it gets wrapped up in there and just won’t come up (and we vacuum beforehand too). The bottom brush bit is hard to clean the cat hair too, so much so that we just take it to the bathtub and get our nozzle and just “pressure wash” it out. The pictures I attached are only clean because I spent way too much time digging into places to force stuff out due to poor design. Not friendly for regular use and incredibly frustrating to clean.

This carpet cleaner It's not good, it doesn't clean well and it's very difficult to remove all the water and it doesn't have to clean the sofas. I don't recommend buying it.

What garbage. I have had this garbage for 8 months used a handful of times now water is leaking everywhere. Looked it up it is due to a defective part. Don’t waste your hard earned money on this garbage.

The first time I used this it was great. Now that I'm using it the second time the suction piece won't suction to the machine to suck up any water. I've tried watching videos on how to fix it. Nothing works.

I bought this product and it was easy to assemble and use for the first 4 times but after that I went to clean my rug and it didn't release the solution anymore. I contacted Hoover and they sent me a link to troubleshoot. My husband spent a few hours over the weekend trying to fix it but it still didn't dispense. He told me the water tank doesn't fit properly so I contacted Hoover via email and no response. I tried calling and stayed on hold forever with no call back. I'm so upset I spent so much money on this product and now it doesn't work. We've got two Bissell products we've had for a few year (none are a carpet cleaner) and we've never had issues with them. I should have gone with their brand.

We have a couple of large area rugs (12x14) and have been using the Bissell Little Green Pro, but decided that we needed something that could handle the larger surfaces (vs a spot clean) so we bought the Hoover PowerDash Compact Carpet Cleaner. It looks nice, extremely easy to put together (literally 1-2 minutes) and easy to use. After spending over 2 hours trying to get the area rug cleaner and it still looking pretty much the same as before we started, i went on the Hoover website to get some help...totally useless. I tried the AI help 4 times and it just kept telling me to contact Customer Service - I easily wasted 25 to 30 minutes doing this. I then decided to go to the Hoover.com/help as per the notice that came with the machine, only to waste at least another 30 minutes trying to figure out the model number; i tried everything that was on the back of the machine only to be told each time that it wasn't recognized and to call!!! And of course it is closed. I have no idea if i am using the machine properly; i have read every word of every paper that came with the machine, but there is nothing but basic set up. There is no guidance as to what tricks to use to get the rug clean, etc. How long should you use the dry, how quickly to move it, etc. I am beyond frustrated and will be returning it and will stay away from Hoover!

I absolutely loved using this model it was so easy to use and lightweight to move around. The only con was the cleaning the machine after it takes a lot of effort and removing screws to clean. Why can't a carpet cleaner be made where the whole clean out tank can be disassembled but a through clean?

I liked this in the beginning because it was just big enough to get the job done but then the clean water tank began to leak. My husband fixed it with silicone and it lasted for a while but now it's leaking again. Hoover will SELL me another but won't replace it. The dirty water tank is also hard to clean and smells from the dirt trapped in it. To buy both tanks is not much less than buying a new machine. Husband will try to fix the tank again until I can decide which cleaner to buy next.

Honest review - I give his cleaner a 5 out of 5 stars. 1st off, it’s super light, compared to other cleaners I’ve had. The ease of cleaning the machine is a breeze! I had an older version and the new upgrade ease of cleaning is so much better. You can easily dump the dirty water and rinse it out, thrush roll has a removable piece that makes it super easy to clean. No one wants a stinky carpet cleaner sitting around! I cleaned two area rugs (9x13 and 8x10) with this and it did a fantastic job. I was quoted $175 to have them cleaned, and I got the job done myself with this machine and now I have it to do myself whenever I need it. Highly recommend for big jobs and small spots.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This vac is the best I have used in a long time, it picks up so much and leaves the carpet so clean! It is somewhat loud, so it drives my pets a bit crazy but its so powerful that it doesnt take long.

This was my first time buying my own carpet cleaner and i’m feeling very distinguished lol. Carpet cleaners have come a long way! Putting this together was not rocket science. This was so easy to use, easy to maneuver and easy to clean. It’s not super loud either. I think my vacuum cleaner might be slightly louder than this thing. It came with a sample bottle of cleaning liquid and it was enough to do 500sq ft of space. I hope it lasts me a long time! I would buy this again if I had to.
