Q: can it be programed with out a cell phone. the model we have is also a roomba it can be set up manually. but it is about 5 years old

A: Hello, The robot cannot be programmed without a cell phone. You would however be able to initiate a cleaning mission by pressing the "Clean" button, but you cannot use features of the iRobot Home app without a device.

A: Hello Caryn, Yes, the robot can be operated using the "Clean" button and a Wi-Fi connection is not essential for its functionality. She would be missing a lot of features, though.

It works for the most part. But if you have anything in your rooms, it gets stuck all the time. It also doesn't clean all that well as a mop. It vacuums decent when it's not stuck. I'm a minimalist and barely have anything. I still have to move everything I do have and block areas off. It's good for an empty basement.

I have an open concept first floor with an island in the center. The path of the robot won't go diagonally so it doesn't go around the island and clean the actual kitchen prep area. We also have a bathroom that doesn't get cleaned. I was so excited for this and ended up so disappointed. Definitely save your money and buy another brand.

It does exactly was a $150 vacuum is supposed to do.

It does an okay job. I used to have an ecovac that was $600 and it stopped working after 1 year, but that year it was the best vacuum ever! so for $150 i didn't except much from this roomba. It does skip areas and sometimes it just kicks trash around lol but it picks up dog hair and thats what i needed it to do.

I was excited to have this vacuum/mop to clean dog paw prints and water spots on my floors while I was at work. It got hung up in all kinds of places, mainly on my couch. It was something that needed to be used while I was there and could watch it. That is not what I was looking for.

I ordered the new i Roomba sweeper from your website. The whole family came together to give this gift to my mother. What a disappointment when she opened the box and all the dust from that used sweeper came back into her face. It was really disgusting and very embarrassing. She even had to sneeze. It’s a lot quieter than my older one. I think it works good. I don’t like it gets stuck more frequently than my older one and with the older one it vacuumed my throw rugs, this one eats them.

Downgrade from Older Model

We got this to replace an older model that was slowing down and it’s so much worse. It’s much louder than our older model and does a terrible job. The suction level seems fine but it’s like it does a poor job navigating. She’ll leave full swaths of crumbs after she’s done cleaning. Her battery life seems way better than the older model but that doesn’t do any good when she decides she’s done when she still has 50% of her battery left and goes back to her home base leaving a ton of debris. Going to return this one and think about changing brands.

One less thing for me to do. I turn it on or schedule a clean and I forget it. Is it perfect no. Does it replace me scrubbing on my hands and knees no, but for everyday cleaning, it’s great and does the job. For $159 what are you expecting?

I wouldn’t even give this one star if I could, when I first tried to connect it to my phone/app after factory resetting it. It kept telling me my WiFi password was incorrect, when it indeed was correct. After trying about 5-7 times resetting it I finally got it to connect with said same password I was using prior. Then when I finally got it to start cleaning it span around in circles, for about 15 mins then it said it finished the job. So then I had manually returned it home and then started a new job trying to see if it just had to Calibrate or something but it still just went along one wall for 20 mins. I was trying to give it a chance to do its job but it continually stayed along the wall and I made sure to clear the whole floor for it. But it never moved and it said it mapped my floors and did the square footage but it was entirely incorrect and said my floor was larger than I even have.. all out of whack. I made sure there was an updated version and everything too. But still didn’t work. It dies so quickly too. It was fully charged when I started the job and halfway thru the 15 mins it was less than half of battery life left. So it had to recharge before the second “job” was initiated.

I bought it today and was super excited to finally get a robot vacuum, and I assumed since it was a Roomba I was getting one of the best. When I day this was an absolute waste of money and time, I mean exactly that. I ran it twice, and the piece of trash (smaller than a dime) was still in the same spot. After running the machine twice!! I am so disappointed 😞. Save your time and go with another vacuum, because this ain't it. I will be making a trip, back to target tomorrow and getting a different one. Smh.
