Description

Philips Avent Glass Natural bottle with the Natural Response nipple lets baby control the pace of the milk, like they do when breastfeeding. The nipples' unique opening and tip only releases milk when your baby actively drinks. When pausing to swallow and breathe no milk flows. Baby can drink, swallow, and breathe using their natural rhythm, just like they do when breastfeeding. Easily combine breast and bottle feeding with a wide breast-shaped nipple with a soft feel that mimics the shape and feel of a breast; plus baby controlling the flow of milk like they do when breastfeeding. The nipple has a no-drip design which helps prevent lost milk from the tip. An anti-colic valve integrated into the nipple is designed to reduce colic and discomfort by sending air away from your baby's tummy. The ergonomic shape makes it comfortable for parents to hold. Assembly is simple with only a few parts and the wide bottle neck makes filling and cleaning easy. This Natural Philips Avent bottle is made of premium quality borosilicate glass, a BPA free material. It is heat and thermal shock resistant, so it can be safely stored in the fridge, warmed and is easy to wash and sterilize. The Natural response nipples come in flow rates 1-5, to keep up with your baby's growth. We recommend using the Philips Avent Natural baby bottle with Philips Avent Natural bottle nipples. Includes: 1 8oz Glass Natural bottle with Natural Response nipple flow 3. SCY913/01

What to expect when introducing the Philips Avent Natural Response Nipple:

-It's totally natural for your baby to take 2-3 tries to get milk flowing from a new bottle. Unlike traditional bottles the Natural bottle is designed to only release milk when your baby is actively drinking, like what happens when babies breastfeed.

We have 5 different nipple flow rates for the Natural bottle. When looking for the right nipple flow rate, age is a guide, but your baby's approach to drinking and the feeding cues they will show will help determine when to move to a higher or lower nipple flow rate.

Packaging uses 100% plastic alternative, FSC-certified paper, with great potential to be widely circular for majority of product packaging.

Q: Are these glass bottles microwave safe, if we would like to warm the milk in the bottle directly?

submitted by DC - 3 years ago
  • A: Hello! The Philips Avent Glass Bottles are microwave safe. However, we do not recommend using a microwave to warm up baby's food or drinks. Microwaves might alter the quality of food/drinks and destroy some valuable nutrients. Microwaves do not heat evenly and they might leave "hot spots" which could scald your baby. When heating up your Philips Avent bottle in the microwave, please only place the container without screw ring, AirFree vent, nipple and cap. Always stir heated content to ensure even heat distribution and check the temperature before serving.

Leaking is what these bottles do best

These are the most infuriating and frustrating bottles we have ever bought. The design is horrible, if you don't close the top just the right way the bottles will leak out. Even when you think you have tightened the top enough, milk will still leak out. Horrible, especially since these bottles are in the pricier end. Save yourself aggravation and go with a different product.

Detrimental hairline cracks in the bottles

Our baby loves this bottle for feeding and we have purchased 7 of these 8oz glass bottles. But, recently we found hairline cracks on all of the glass bottles, which is kind of making us skeptical to use them for feeding. We are not sure if this is safe for feeding since tiny minute glass particles which are not visible can cause harm to the baby. Philip Avent should have include some sort of an indicator in the design of the bottles so that we can readily understand that the bottle should be replaced.

We take the quality of our products and especially the safety of our customers very seriously and we are glad that the bottle did not shatter or injure anyone. No shatterproof?

Not shatterproof. Ive been using the bottle for over a year now I was glad to see additional nipples such as the sippy and straw tips. Last night my son dropped it and it completely shattered the glass shards even cut him. I would like to still recommend and use this product but I would like to see a silicone cover to protect from shattering. Also I would praise that they were shatter proof because there has been countless times where I drop it even on pavement and it never shattered, so I'm not sure if maybe the glass gets worn out or what happened to its durability because it wasn’t a hard drop at all and it just went into a pieces.

Hi, Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we are sorry to hear about your experience with the bottle shattering. Your son’s safety and well-being are our top priorities, and we apologize for the distress this has caused. We value your suggestion regarding the silicone cover to protect the bottle from shattering and will pass this feedback on to our product development team. It’s important for us to understand why the glass broke despite previous durability, and we would appreciate the opportunity to investigate further. The Plastic Fasteners

    2 out of 5 stars
    RB1414 - 6 months ago
    originally posted on philips.com
The plastic fasteners, holding the nipple, do not lock in place after a couple washes. We use a baby brezza to clean and sanitize our bottles. We do not use the dishwasher or boiling water but Philips’ plastic fasteners are so cheap they must warp during the brezza wash. Even though there are some benefits to using these bottles, they become unusable once the fastener no longer works. Don’t waste your money. They don’t even offer replacement fasteners, have to buy all new sets. You just end up with a bunch of extra glass bottles and nipples. You must wash the fasteners each time because of bacteria babies carry. Philips will never be a good or great company, just average because they dabble in everything from toothbrushes to lights…

They sealed tightly at first but after a while the rim doesn’t seal and con constantly turn with enough pressure causing milk to leak. It’s not the plastic rim that’s the problem either as I’ve tried many, it’s the glass bottle. I also had one that the bottom fell off likely from going from the fridge to the bottle warmer. I love the glass bottles but the design needs work.

The lids leak constantly. I can’t tell you got often they’ve leaked on my baby and we’ve had to change her clothes. Not ideal ever, especially in the middle of the night. I like the natural response nipple but Avent really needs to improve their design to stop the lid from leaking. I noticed a lot of others have the same complaint.
1 reply from Philips Consumer Care team - 9 months ago
Hello there, Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that your Philips Avent Glass Natural Response Baby Bottle is leaking. We would like to inform you that incorrect assembly is the cause of leakage in 50% of cases. Please ensure that the nipple is properly inserted through the screw ring and is securely tightened on the bottle without being overtightened. Wet glass bottles can be particularly difficult to close as they may slip. Therefore, it is best to dry the bottle before closing it. If these tips do not help or if you need further assistance, please reach out to us via social media. We are available on Facebook (@Philips) and X (@PhilipsCare). Hi there, We are sorry to hear that your Philips Avent Glass Natural Response Baby Bottle leak. Leakage is caused by the wrong assembly in 50% of the cases. Make sure the nipple is pulled correctly through the screw ring and the screw ring is tightened sufficiently on the bottle without overtightening. The 4 new nipples are impossible to get liquid out of and my baby takes forever… Please bring back the old nipples !!! I even upped the size and it has not helped…. Also the bottle leaks WAY to easy out of the white ring part of the lid and I have all the attachments on properly. I’m sick and tired of losing ounces of milk when I tip the bottle. I will not be purchasing these bottles anymore which is unfortunate because they used to be the best..
1 reply from Philips Consumer Care team - 2 years ago
Hi there, Thanks for sharing your feedback with us. This is not the experience we wish you to have with Philips Avent bottles. Regarding the issue with the nipples, we would like to indicate that both the previous and new Philips Avent Natural Nipples are designed to look and feel like a breast, but only the new Natural Response Nipples are also designed to work like one, releasing milk only when your baby actively drinks. Babies who are accustomed to bottles with faster milk flow may find it challenging to adjust to our natural response nipples, which are designed to replicate the experience of breastfeeding. These nipples require babies to exert some effort to extract the milk. However, we understand that every baby is different, and finding the right nipple can make a significant difference in their feeding experience. In regards to the problem of leakage, we want to reassure you that our bottles are equipped with anti-colic valves. These valves are intentionally designed to be slightly open in order to maintain their anti-colic function. Consequently, when the bottle is inverted with the lid closed, it is normal to observe a small amount of liquid, usually less than a teaspoon, dripping out within the initial 30 seconds. This occurrence indicates that the valve is working properly by preventing air from entering your baby's stomach. If you have any additional questions, please get in touch via Social Media. We’re available on Facebook (@Philips) and Twitter (@PhilipsCare). Don’t worry, if you don’t use Social Media, you can also reach out to us via the contact page: www.Philips.com/contact.
