It gets clogged very easily you have to take the guard apart clean it out repeatedly and start again. It does however do a nice job as long as you continue to do that. As far as products the stain remover doesn't work unless its a spill that just happened. the machine is heavy so if you have steps to go up and down be ready. its heavy. But i needed one I picked the one i thought best, and im sure for some, it is.

I have a shark vacuum that I our he’d 15 years ago and it still works great. I bought this carpet cleaner a couple of years ago, now it doesn’t work. I spent good money for this and now I’ve waisted hundreds of dollars. Very disappointed.

I am used to the spot cleaning vacuums. This is my first large area cleaner. Absolutely amazing. Just minutes to set up after reading instructions. It did take 4 dump and refills and could probably have done 6-8, but if you’re like me and have had an area rug for over a year with no wet cleaning it’s gonna take quite a bit of cleaning to get the water clearer. The suction is great, I did just hot tap water and was impressed. It’s not that loud. My absolute favorite part is how easy it is to clean the machine when you’re done. I specifically chose this model based on a review of how it gets cleaned, and it is so very easy compared to my last hand held spot cleaner that I could never get clean and it always made my rugs smell worse. I would say my only gripe is how quickly you can run through the water on deep clean, though I guess with regular use I will use that feature less often. So it probably doesn’t matter. And I think the tank is about the same size on all these things. I was also not worried about it not having a heating element because I can just use hot water, heating elements tend to break so easily so I think this is fine without and it’s not like you want to leave liquid in the machine when not in use anyways. I would have to throw my area rugs out probably every 12-18 months they get so dirty with kids and animals. I found the expense of the vacuum to be better than the cost of replacing rugs because my spot cleaner could never keep them clean enough.

It does do a great job cleaning up most stains, but only with the shark. Carpet cleaner. No other brand or homemade cleaner that I tried works really at all. And I believe the instructions even said only use shark brand cleaner, though I just assume because they just want you to spend more money buying their expensive cleaner. After a month, when I use it even with a fresh cleaned out tank of water and cleaner, it still smells a bit funky. The downside is the spray hose is constantly in the way. I wish there was a better place to put it instead of being right where the buttons and lever are. Also, the dirty water tank only holds a third of its space worth of dirty water before you have to dump it.

I bought this a few weeks ago and am very happy with the build quality. I have only used a little to try it out but it seemed to work well. I look forward to cleaning the carpet in our apartment in the next couple of weeks.

This thing is incredible! It sucks all the dirt out of the carpet. I used it in my car as well. The water was disgusting!

The Shark CarpetXpert that I bought is wonderful. It works great and cleans up stains that were not removed with other carpet cleaners, both owned and rented. I also like that it leaves the rugs much drier.

On a whim, I decided to buy this steam cleaner after my old one tanked on me. I have been using it now for about a week and absolutely love it! First of all the suction is fantastic. I have been steam cleaning my carpets quite a bit due to puppy accidents. I thought I was keeping my carpets clean. Boy, was I wrong. I have cleaned my carpets four times and the dirty water tank is finally showing variation on the level of dirt. Another win for this cleaner is that the vacuum part automatically dispenses out the liquid. I no longer have to squeeze a button to tell the machine to dispense water. I love that it has a direct hose attachment with several different cleaning heads. I have been able to utilize the hose for small areas. The suction on the hose is magnificent. I was able to steam cleaning my headboard, and I forgot that my child had spilled some juice on it a couple months ago. Watching the hose suction up this one stain was satisfying. The only complaint (not really) is that when you push the off button it takes a few minutes to power down, but I’m betting it is due to its awesome suction power!

Seriously impressed! I have had other brands over the years and regretted it. Suction wasn’t powerful enough with those brands. This thing has awesome suction. Cancelled my professional carpet cleaning because this did the trick.

Received two months ago and I love it. I would refer this carpet shampoo to anyone with pets/children.

Very nice product easy to use workes grate on ruges

Wow! This Shark CarpetXpert with Stainstriker is really easy to use. It has great suction to remove the dirt and water from the carpet. Even my older carpets and area rug carpets look fabulous and clean after one afternoon application. The Shark Deep Clean Pro formula removes dirt and stains and leaves a fresh scent that is not overwhelming and doesn’t linger too long. Very happy with this carpet cleaning machine and cleaning products.

My carpet cleaner with a name that starts with a H, that I owned and used probably a dozen times broke down . I wanted to do some early spring cleaning and no rental of a carpet physician for me. I checked out websites and reviews, found that Shark is very highly recommended. I own a Shark Rotator vac and Ninja counter appliance that I like very much, and do their work very well. I bought a 201 carpet cleaner that had an issue, and Shark got me a replacement within a short period of time. The replacement works excellent and I am very happy to recommend Shark to family and friends.
