Q: Is it good for coarse cold brew grind?
submitted by Ariel - 6 years ago
A: All of the settings on this grinder make "Fine" grounds. The coarse setting makes medium find grounds. If you want coarse grinds -- look elsewhere. I am very disappointed in this machine.
submitted bymenton - 2 years ago
A: The grind is fairly inconsistent and you will get a lot of fines.

Q: Can you grind grains with this?
submitted by Ginger Bloom - 7 months ago
A: I've been using this grinder for several years to make small batches of oat and rice flours. It works great with oats. The rice needs to be run through the grinder twice and does not get super-fine.
submitted byJenRR - 6 months ago
A: Thanks for your question! This unit has only been tested grinding coffee beans. We do not suggest using it to grind anything else.

Q: Does anyone know if this grinder grind coffee beans beyond the espresso size to the dust powder extra fine size needed to prepare like Turkish coffee or so?
submitted by Ptl - 9 years ago
A: Yes, there is an extra fine setting for Turkish coffee.
submitted byRadiofan - 6 years ago
A: It does several different textures.
submitted byGinaB2323 - 7 years ago
Q: Can you grind spices in this?
submitted by JA - 9 years ago
A: Yes, I suppose you could. It would be a little over powered for just regular kitchen use and much more work to clean out between spices. I use a small inexpensive grinder for spices, they usually are around $10.
submitted byclf - 9 years ago
A: You could, but it wouldn't be easy to clean a specific spice out of it. I wouldn't use it for that purpose.
submitted byTCook - 9 years ago
Q: Just bought grinder. It grinds coffee really slow. Is this normal?
submitted by Sandcrab3 - 9 years ago
A: You don't really want a grinder that is too fast. It builds up heat due to the speed and that can effect your beans.
submitted byclf - 9 years ago
A: The setting in front is for the approximate number of cups of brewed coffee in ground coffee needed. The top setting is for how fine a grind you want. The finer the grind the slower it will grind because it brings the blades closer together. A more uniform grind speed can be achieved by keeping the bean hopper full so it always puts downward pressure on the beans to enter the grinding chamber. All that being said it should grind the beans at the same rate as any other comparable grinder. I've had mine for over a year and find it to be the best grinder for under $100. Hope that helps!
submitted byPhil C - 9 years ago
Q: I just bought this grinder. There is a mark on the dial that selects Fine/Medium/Course. Is it supposed to be screwed all the way in so mark is about 9 o'clock or is it supposed to face you.
submitted by Sandcrab3 - 9 years ago
A: True the white line is your guide to the type of grind you want. Align with the dots on your grinder. Good luck.
submitted byNailima - 9 years ago
A: The white line indicates the desired grind. it varies from fine to coarse. just twist to the the dotted marks depending on how you want it ground. most coffee makers you would use the medium setting and fine form more espresso applications.

Burr Grinder with Multiple Grind Settings
Had the unit for over 10 years, and it's great. Consistent grind, great adjustments, everything. After 10 years, the motor seems to have burned out, but I used it often and I'm not mad, getting ready to purchase another. to the folks who burned their motors right away, that's not the product's defect, it's you overloading the output cup, backing up onto the motor and burning the motor. If you jam the motor, it will burn up and stop working. Don't blame Cuisinart.

Best we have ever purchased.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a week or so ago and used it for the first time about an hour ago. One word for this grinder: exceptional! Instructions were very simple to follow. I was amazed at the ease of grinding as the unit did everything. I selected our brew preference (medium) for a drip coffee maker (Cuisinart), and it was exceptional. Highly recommend.

Ok, but...
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Does a good job of grinding however, the motor cuts out often. I assume due to over-current. I have to wait before resuming use. The collection vessel collects fine coffee dust. Must be washed out with water. Other than that, it's a keeper. Let's see how long the motor lasts...

We're glad to hear the Supreme Grind® Automatic Burr Mill generally provides the grind quality you're looking for, though we're sorry to hear about the motor cutting out during use. To help maintain performance, we recommend cleaning the burrs and grind chamber regularly, avoiding overfilling the hopper, and allowing the unit to cool if it has been used for an extended period. Fine coffee particles can accumulate in the grounds container over time, so periodic cleaning is recommended to help keep the unit operating at its best. Thank you for sharing your feedback; we appreciate your comments, and they help us continue improving our products and consumer experience.

Great Grinder
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This grinder was a gift. At first I wasn't so sure I would like it but as it turned out, I love this grinder. Having the choice of the coarseness of the coffee is a winner to me. I have had my grinder for over 10 years and it is still going strong.

No good
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not so great. Horribly loud screeching sounds while grinding. Inconsistent grind quality. Beans do not feed properly into the hopper. This is a waste of 75 bucks. I'm looking for a better grinder so I can toss this one in the trash. It's not worth giving this thing to Goodwill.

We're sorry to hear the Supreme Grind® Automatic Burr Mill did not meet your expectations. For improved grinding performance, we recommend ensuring the hopper and burrs are clean and free of oils or debris, as buildup can affect bean feeding, grind consistency, and operating noise. If you're continuing to experience excessive noise or inconsistent results, please contact our Consumer Assistance Center at 1-800-726-0190. Thank you for sharing your feedback; your comments are important to us and help us continue improving our products and the overall consumer experience.

No regrets!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine is great! It is not messy like some of the posts state. It is easy to clean. It gives the exact measurements for the strength and flavor of coffee you like. It is loud , however we grind our coffee at night before bed and just turn the pot on in the morning.

We're sorry to hear that your Supreme Grind® Automatic Burr Mill stopped working so soon and did not meet your expectations. If the grinder is not operating, we recommend confirming the bean hopper and grind chamber are properly aligned and locked into place, as the safety interlock will prevent operation if components are not fully seated. We'd be happy to review your product concerns and options, so please contact our Consumer Assistance Center at 1-800-726-0190 and reference Ticket #8901080561. Bad Grinder.
This unit was dysfunctional. Overheated on one use.
1 reply from Product Expert team - 1 month ago
We're sorry to hear that your Cuisinart Automatic Burr Mill did not perform as expected. If the grinder overheated during use, we recommend allowing the unit to cool completely, ensuring it is not being overfilled, and checking that the grinding chamber and burrs are free of any obstructions that could place additional strain on the motor. We'd be happy to provide additional troubleshooting assistance and determine whether the unit may require further evaluation, so please contact our Consumer Assistance Center at 1-800-726-0190. Thank you for sharing your feedback, as it helps us continue improving our products and consumer experience.

Nice little unit except one problem...
Nice and compact as far as kitchen appliances go. The design is stylish and the price was very reasonable. For our two person household, this is the perfect size as we consume about 4-6 cups a day usually brewing 4 cups at a time. My only complaint is that I found that the lid on the catch container is very clumsy - it can pop off easily when inverted for pouring the grounds into the basket making a great big mess on your coffee maker and surrounding counter. After the second time, of this, I started removing the strainer basket from the coffee maker, placing it into the kitchen sink and then pouring the grounds into it. I really would like to see the little plastic lid redesigned with a slide in slot with a click lock to prevent this.

Grinder is just average
I like the look of this grinder. but I don't like the inconsistency with grind size. What I REALLY dislike about this grinder is that the catch tray is so staticky that alot of coffee grounds stick to it and if anything hits it even a little, grounds fly everywhere and it makes a mess of coffee dust. These 2 things make this only an ok grinder. I expected more from Cuisinart.

We're sorry to hear the Supreme Grind Automatic Burr Mill did not fully meet your expectations. For more consistent grind results, we recommend cleaning the burrs regularly and ensuring the grind chamber and bean hopper are properly seated before use; to help reduce static, try lightly misting the beans with a drop of water before grinding and emptying the grounds container promptly after use. Thank you for sharing your experience—your feedback is important and helps us continue improving our products and consumer experience.

Cuisinart Coffemaker/Kuerig combo
Looks nice. Inconsistent measuring causes cups to overfill one day and underfill the next. The coffeemaker develops mold and has stopped filling the pot, causing a filter basket backup and forcing grounds into the coffeemaker's water reservoir.
1 reply from Cuisinart team - 2 months ago
We're sorry to hear about your experience with the coffeemaker. Inconsistent dispensing can sometimes result from buildup within the system, and regular cleaning and descaling as outlined in the owner's manual are important to help maintain proper operation and water flow. If you're noticing mold, reduced brewing volume, or water backing up into the filter basket, we recommend discontinuing use until the unit has been thoroughly cleaned. Please contact our Consumer Assistance Center at 1-800-726-0190 so we can learn more about the issue and assist further. Thank you for sharing your feedback—your comments help us continue improving our products and consumer experience.

Pros and Cons of the Cuisinart Supreme Grind
While it grinds the coffee extremely well, it does leave a bit of a mess when transferring grinded coffee to the maker. Constantly having to use the brush. Occasionally the beans will not gravity feed into the hopper. I understand that is due to oils on the beans?

We're sorry to hear about your experience with the Supreme Grind® Automatic Burr Mill, especially after owning multiple units. To help maximize performance, we recommend periodically cleaning the burrs and grind chamber to remove residual coffee oils and grounds that can affect operation over time; however, we understand your frustration given the limited use you've described. Please contact our Consumer Assistance Center at 1-800-726-0190 and reference Ticket #8901039637 so we can learn more about the issue and explore available support options.
